177 m2 LED big screen attracts people to the shopping center and district

This specially designed outdoor LED installation won the award for Best Public Integration at AVards. It is installed in front of and at Quarree Wandsbek, which is a shopping center in the district of the same name in Hamburg.

The shopping center Quarree Wandsbek wanted to tie the local district together better, and at the same time be able to communicate to the district and its citizens. The solution was a specially designed facade solution from Expromo, where the LED screen is used by the shopping center for specific campaigns. In the long term, the media facade must also be an attention-grabbing stage for art and culture to and from the district.

13% more customers 

The modernization of ??Quarree Wandsbek  has been successfully completed. The district is growing and growing. The population has increased steadily in recent decades. On average, the population of the district of Wandsbek grows by about 2,000 people every year. Since May 2022, the center has month after month exceeded the frequency of customer visits in 2019. In September, 13% more customers visited Quarree Wandsbek than in September 2019.

Grows directly out of the building

On all three sides of the screen you can play media, such as video, 2D or 3D graphics and animations. The three-dimensional digital LED area – called the tower – extends over a total of 177 square meters. Thanks to the innovative technology, the surfaces appear as a solid unit despite the right-angled outer edges. It gives the viewer the impression that the screen, which is visible from all three sides, grows directly out of the building.

With a pixel pitch of 5 mm and resolution of over 4K, this outdoor installation is so far unique in Germany.

Pilot Screentime, Expromo’s innovative partner in Hamburg managed the project as general contractor. and the technological LED screen is produced, developed and installed by Expromo.
